The C Word
If you've been reading this blog for long, you've probably figured out I can easily exercise the mouth of sailor. However, I hate the "C" word. But now it has a whole new meaning.
Colic.
For the past four days, my sweet little angel turns into a screaming, shrieking hellcat for a handful of hours each day. It's so sad and awful. I feel so helpless in trying to help her and feel so sorry for her. I'm great at keeping my cool with her and didn't cry until my mom called tonight.
Dear Sweet Baby Jesus Lying in a Manger Lord in Heaven ---- Have Mercy on Me. This too shall pass . . . . . .

My little one did that for weeks, it was horrible! Around 6-8 weeks I took her to the doctor and discovered she had reflux. A week on Zantac and I had a new {happy} child.
Ohhhh girl I feel for ya :( Our Sam had HORRIBLE colic! It was brutal on all of us. I promise it WILL get better. Hang in there. If it continues, maybe try a formula change?
Will had colic for six months. From 6pm-11pm every night he would scream bloody murder. The only thing that would help him go from screaming to just crying was holding him in a baby bjorn - and only if I did it. Glenn didn't have the right mojo apparently.
The only positive was I lost a ton of weight walking and bouncing.
I thought this poor baby would never smile or be happy. Now he's the happiest kid I know.
Hang in there! Hugs!
I feel you, hon. James was my first to have it, and it was blessedly short lived (in comparison to some stories I've heard) but it's hell to live through when you're in it. But, like you said, it WILL pass. I promise. You're doing great, momma!
Poor Kate and poor mama! You might try a different formula (not sure what you're using now) and mommy bliss gripe water is a Godsend! I also recently saw belly wraps that warm up for little ones with tummy problems. Hang in there mama!
Ditto everything everyone has said above. White noise is a beautiful thing too.
Hang in there!
OMG Colic is AWFUL!!! Macy had it from 4 weeks-3 months, and every night was absolutely horrendous from 5:00-11:00. We would bounce her, sway with her, sing to her, lay her in her bed because we just couldn't take it anymore, etc... We found a pad that we used, and it made vibrating noises and massaged her belly. We'd lay her in our laps on her tummy on top of that, and it would give her some relief. It was made by The First Years. Have faith it will end, and one day you'll realize, "Hey, she's not screaming right now", and then you pray that the next day it will happen again. But in the meantime, just trade off with Daddy. It's too much for one person to handle. I found myself crying right along with her every single night. Those were some rough months, but it will end!! We used Gripe Water, and we had her on Neutramigen and two doses of Nexium/day. Colic is hard!! Praying for you guys!!!
It's probably not colic if it's only a few hours each day (and the same hours)...more than likely it's the dreaded "witching hour" which is inappropriately named, as it is rarely just one dang hour. This is where the swing saved our sanity with both of our babies...swaddle, swing and shush (or white noise machine...with a glass of wine for mom and dad).
